What is my birthstone?

Birthstones are ancient beliefs, as they are mentioned in the Bible. It was in 1912 that a list was established by jewelers in the United States who associated a stone with a particular month. Amended several times, the list is subject to several interpretations, which explains why there are slight variations.

Birthstones for the twelve months of the year

January: garnet. Garnet is the birthstone for the month of January and it may be the Spessartite garnet, orange-red, the most common, or other colors like the Tsavorite garnet, which is green. Traditionally, these stones representpositive energy and great virtues, like courage, faithfulness, or truth. They are used on jewelry as symbols of love.

February: amethyst. Embodying serenity, balance and sincerity, amethyst is also the Stone of creativity. It is a type of quartz whose color varies from mauve to intense purple. It is often used in lithotherapy against stress.

Mars: aquamarine. THEaquamarine is a gem with various shades of blue, ideal for jewelry celebrating a new stage, such as an engagement or a wedding anniversary, for example, a pewter wedding ring. Elle Symbolizes hope, renewal, as well as loyalty and is credited with the power to bring inner peace.

April: diamond. Symbol of strength, the diamond is the birthstone for the month of April which, of course, is also the embodiment of eternal love! Precious stone of commitment par excellence, it is popular for engagement rings, but it adorns many other pieces of jewelry, adding sparkle to them.

May: emerald. THEemerald is a precious stone surrounded by numerous myths and worn by several great figures in history. Birthstone for the month of May, which is also associated with wedding anniversaries, especially on a 20 years of marriage ring, she is a Symbol of honesty and wisdom, balance and fertility.

June: pearl. Depending on where the birthstone lists come from, the pearl, a symbol of beauty and love, represents the natives of June, the romantic pink sapphire, moonstone, which is associated with benevolence, or alexandrite, with its changing reflections depending on the light.

July: rubies. Rare stone, the majestic ruby embodies passionate love and it is a much loved engagement stone! Ruby is traditionally a powerful Symbol of courage and happiness, in multiple cultures.

September: sapphire. Traditionally, the blue sapphire is the birthstone for September, but other colors are possible, such as green sapphire. Its meaning is essentially Loyalty and sapphires have become the stones of choice for engagement rings.

October: tourmaline. The beautiful pink tourmaline frequently illustrates the October birthstone, with symbolism linked to Self-confidence and love. However, there are several other varieties, including Paraíba tourmaline, the rarest.

November: citrine. This yellow stone embodies joy and optimism, as well as prosperity and success. In lithotherapy, it is coveted for fighting negative energies and promoting good luck.
