Viennent ensuite IF (Internally Flawless), VVS1 (Very Very Slightly Included 1) et VVS2, pour des diamants d’excellente qualité.
I ou J : presque incolore.
- provenant de mines où les travailleurs sont bien traités, décemment rémunérés et exercent en sécurité ;
- dont l’extraction entraîne un impact minimal sur l’environnement ;

Les sapphire mines in Madagascar are located mainly in the south and have been exploited since the 1990s. It is therefore a more recent activity than the extraction of the famous Ceylon sapphire. However, the Ilakata region is home to one of the largest sapphire deposits in the world, discovered in 1998. In particular, we find the blue sapphire from Madagascar.
Why is it so famous? The blue sapphire from Madagascar is characterized by a deep, saturated color and great clarity, but these precious stones are also appreciated because they can have a fairly large carat weight. The geological conditions are exceptional and Madagascar produces high quality sapphires. In addition, the other sapphire mines in the world, which were traditionally highly coveted, tend to empty out.
For your Buying sapphire from Madagascar, we source from a short circuit and provide you with a certificate of authenticity, issued by a renowned gemological laboratory. The reality of the sapphire mining industry in Madagascar is complex, but it is in full evolution. Mining companies, NGOs, and the government are working to regulate activities, to address ethical challenges and for greater transparency.
Blue sapphire from Madagascar sells at all prices, but when it is royal blue (dark blue) unheated and offers high purity, prices soar. However, be aware that other blue sapphires from Madagascar are extremely popular in jewelry, for example, the rare
blue gray sapphire and the superb Sapphire Teal. Most of the time, blue sapphire from Madagascar is priced similar to stones from other famous countries, such as Sri Lanka.
Intensity, color and tone, not to mention carats and size (to give it its shape) are the main criteria for the price of a precious stone. The Madagascar star sapphire is a bit different, cut in cabochon and inexpensive. It is not widely used for the creation of jewelry in jewelry, but the stone with its six-pointed star appeals to many enthusiasts.
If the blue sapphire has made Madagascar's reputation, the country is an important source of sapphires of other colors, starting with the pink sapphire. It is on this island that the largest quantities are extracted and pink sapphire from Madagascar is also very well known for its quality.
Madagascar deposits are known to offer various precious stones, including beautiful ruby, but also sapphires of various colors. Further north, we extract yellow sapphires. However, after blue and pink, the most sought after right now is the Madagascar green sapphire.
The green sapphire offers a range of shades and therefore, a lot of choice for creating rings and other jewelry. It is becoming common to create Madagascar green sapphire rings, because once again, this island is generous in terms of quality gems.
The capital Colombo is the center of the sapphire trade in Sri Lanka. In the south of the island, Ratnapura, which means “city of precious stones”, is home to a famous gem market. The yellow sapphire from Sri Lanka has an exceptional color. This gemstone is known to be blue, but besides all these varieties, it can also To be tinged with green.
When you choose a sapphire from Sri Lanka from Maison Bonnot, you always know if it has been heated or not. The heating of sapphire makes it possible to embellish the stones, for example, by intensifying their color. Heated sapphires are not “treated” sapphires. Heating is a traditional technique that is very common in the world of jewelry. Other treatments are less accepted and may affect the value of the stones. They should definitely be reported.
The estimated price of a Ceylon sapphire is carried out according to several criteria, the main ones of which are always purity and clarity. The most precious sapphires are uniform and have no or very few inclusions or impurities visible to the naked eye, with the exception of the star sapphire from Sri Lanka. It is a beautiful optical effect, which creates a six-pointed star, thanks to inclusions.
Browse our site to better know the prices of a Ceylon sapphire for a unique creation, taking into account the other criteria which are, of course, the carat weight, the shape in which the stone has been
cut and the origin. Add to that the law of supply and demand, which can cause sapphire prices to fluctuate: some colors become trendy, while others are less sought after.
If you dream of a sapphire engagement ring, the Ceylon gemstone is an excellent choice, given its quality and the variety of colors it can offer. When evaluating the price ofAquamarine, several key factors are taken into account, influencing its desirability and market value. As a treasure for gemological experts, the value of Aquamarine depends on a combination of attributes that contribute to its unique beauty and its rarity.
Color:
The color of Aquamarine has a significant impact on its value and price. The most sought after shade is a deep, vibrant blue or blue-green, known as “Santa Maria” or “Santa Maria Africana.” Stones with a rich, saturated color usually command higher prices. Pale or faded shades are usually less valuable.
Clarity:
Aquamarines are renowned for their exceptional clarity and transparency, which enhances their value. Gems with minimal inclusions or imperfections are more desirable and come at a higher price, while stones with visible inclusions or opacity are less valuable.
Carat Weight:
Larger Aquamarines are rarer and often more valuable. However, the price per carat tends to decrease as the size increases, due to lower demand for large stones in the jewelry market.
Size:
A well-cut Aquamarine highlights the color, the brilliance and the overall appearance of the stone. Expertly cut gems are more valuable than poorly cut ones because they maximize the return of light and improve the visual appeal of the stone.
Treatment:
Natural, untreated Aquamarines have a higher value compared to stones Treated. Some Aquamarines undergo heat treatment to improve their color and remove greenish hues, which can reduce their overall value.
During Buying an Aquamarine, it is essential to take these factors into account to ensure that you get a high quality gem at a fair price. By understanding the nuances of Aquamarine price and valuation, you can make informed decisions and enrich your jewelry collection with confidence.

As mentioned earlier, Zambian emeralds are known for their unique color shades, ranging from deep bluish green to bright meadow green. The presence of trace elements such as chromium and vanadium contributes to their distinct coloring.
These characteristics make Zambian emeralds an attractive choice for those looking for a high-quality, unique and captivating gemstone. Each emerald from Zambia is a testament to the art of nature and an embodiment of the rich geological heritage from which it comes.
Emeralds from Zambia were first discovered in the early 20th century, with the start of major mining operations in the 1970s. Since then, these captivating gemstones have gained recognition for their exceptional quality and distinctive coloring.
The main source of Zambian emeralds is the Kafubu Emerald Belt, located in the restricted rural emerald area of Ndola in Zambia's Copperbelt Province. This area extends over more than 200 square kilometers and is home to several major mines, including the Kagem Emerald Mine, the largest emerald mine in the world, as well as the Grizzly and Chanete mines, among others.
The unique geological conditions in the Kafubu Emerald Belt contribute to the formation of these extraordinary stones. Zambian emeralds are formed by the interaction of beryl, a mineral found in the Earth's crust, with chromium and vanadium. This interaction results in the formation of the enchanting shade of green that is characteristic of emeralds.
In addition to the Copperbelt Province, smaller deposits of Zambian emeralds have been discovered in other parts of the country. However, the Kafubu Emerald Belt remains the most significant and consistent source of these gems.

Garnets are a large family of minerals whose colors vary according to their chemical composition. Thus, garnets come in shades ranging from green, through yellow, orange, pink to deep red.
The varieties are numerous, but we can mention rhodolite garnets (pink red), Spessartite (orange-brown), Tsavorite (green to emerald green) and malaya (orange pink). The name garnet comes from the Latin granatium, which means pomegranate, inspired by the burgundy red color of this fruit, and from the Greek puropus, because garnet was compared to the eyes of fire.
Garnet is found all over the world, in Europe (Czech Republic), in Europe (Czech Republic), in Africa (Tanzania, Namibia...) and in Asia (Sri Lanka and India). The hardness of garnet is between 7 and 7.5, and it has been used in jewelry for thousands of years. Initially considered a tool for polishing or engraving other gems, it boomed during the fall of the Roman Empire and was used by so-called “barbarian” jewelers.
Today, it is widely used in jewelry making, and many famous creations incorporate garnets. For example, this hair comb is not ordinary at all! It dates from the Victorian era. Each of the pyropic garnets is cut pink, a popular size at the time. Coming from the mines of Bohemia, now located in the Czech Republic, this magnificent piece is entirely covered with them.
